Makes a LARGE loaf! This is not your run of the mill banana bread! It is rich with caramel undertones and simply divine. Even better, dress it up with a sweetened cream cheese spread! (4 0z cream cheese 1 TBSP sugar 1 tsp vanilla)

2 cripe bananas mashed (3-5)

1 sticksoftened butter

2 lgeggs

1/2 cbuttermilk

1 cwhite sugar

1/2 cdark brown sugar packed

2 Tbspmolasses
-
1 Tbsppure vanilla extract

2 1/2 cflour

1 tspsalt

1 tspbaking soda

1/2 cchopped pecans toasted
How To Make banana bread-best recipe ever!

1Preheat oven to 325, ensuring rack is in the middle of the oven. Prepare a large loaf pan by greasing with butter or non stick spray.

2Measure flour, salt and soda into a medium bowl. Whisk to combine. Set aside.

3Using a whisk, cream the butter in a large bowl. Add in the sugars, whisking until incorporated. Whisking, add in eggs, vanilla, molasses and buttermilk. Stir in mashed banana.

4Stir dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir just until thoroughly incorporated. Stir in pecans if using.

5Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake in center of oven for 90 minutes. Test doneness with a toothpick inserted into center of loaf. If it remains dry, with some crumbs it is done. Let cool 20 minutes on a rack. Run a knife along sides and turn out onto cooling rack to cool to room temperature.
