My husband loves spicy & zesty food - everything has to be well seasoned! He and I came up with this recipe together.

Ingredients For zesty homemade croutons

1 pkgrye bread (light or dark)

1 pkgwhite or wheat bread

1 colive oil, extra virgin

1/2 cparmesan cheese
-
1 Tbspgarlic powder
-
1 Tbspitalian seasoning
-
1 Tbspfreshly ground black pepper
-
1 tspsalt
How To Make zesty homemade croutons

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees

2Cut bread into 1 inch cubes

3Put in large mixing bowl & drizzle olive oil over the bread until well coated

4Sprinkle cheese, garlic powder, italian seasoning, and salt & pepper over bread cubes and mix

5Transfer to a large baking pan or cookie sheet and arrange to one layer

6Bake for 10 minutes, remove pan from oven and stir croutons

7Bake for 10 more minutes or until desired crunchiness

8Cool on pan and transfer to air-tight container

9Amount of seasoning can be adjusted to your preference. Bread doesn't have to be fresh - we buy day old bread from the store's bakery. The aroma while cooking will make your house smell great!
