For the longest time I was not able to get my yeast right. Then I ask my sister-in-law how she always got it right. She told me when the water feel just wet not hot nor cold you got it right and now these rolls come out every time.

Ingredients For yeast rolls

    beaten egg
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    peanut oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • TO PREPARE: DISSOLVE: 1 PKG YEAST IN ½ CUP LUKEWARM WATER ADD 1 TBLS SUGAR LET STAND IN A WARM PLACE FOR 45 MINUTES. IT WILL HAVE A MUSHROOM EFFECT.

    all purpose flour

How To Make yeast rolls

    Stir some of the flour into the other ingredients until a fairly thick batter is formed.

    Pour dough onto well floured board and knead in the remaining flour. You cannot knead too much.

    Place the dough in a well greased bowl and let stand until double.Punch the dough down and shape into loaves or rolls. Let stand until doubled.

    Place in a cold oven and bake at 400* for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 375* for 25 minutes for loaves and 10-15 minutes for rolls. Brush with butter.
