This is my go-to garlic bread recipe. Feel free to kick it up, twist it and make it your own! I've listed the basic recipe; sometimes I'll add 1/2 C of shredded cheese to make garlic-cheese bread, sometimes I'll add a few teaspoons of pesto, sometimes a teaspoon of onion powder or kick it up with a pinch of red pepper flakes. However, there's nothing wrong with the "plain" basic recipe!

1/4 cbutter

1/4 colive oil

2 Tbspmayonnaise

1/4 tspsage, dried

3 clovegarlic, chopped

1 tsporegano, dried (or to taste)

1/2 tspsalt

1/2 tspblack pepper

1loaf of french bread
- OPTIONAL ADD-INS (ADD ONE OR MORE TO TASTE)

1/2 ccheese, shredded (your choice)

2-3 tsppesto

1 tsponion powder

1 pinchred pepper flakes (could use red pepper sauce)
How To Make toasted garlic bread

1Preheat broiler. Split French bread loaf horizontally. Left over hotdog or hamburger buns also work!

2Mix together spread ingredients, including any and all mix-in choices. Mix well.

3Spread mixture on cut-side of bread. Broil for 5 minutes under oven broiler - watch carefully as it can burn quickly and it is very sad.
