Ingredients For soft breadsticks

2 1/2 cbread flour

2 1/2 tspdry, jarred yeast

3/4 tspsalt

3/4 cwarm water (120 degrees)

2 Tbspolive oil

1 Tbsphoney
-
1egg yolk
-
1egg white
-
parmesan cheese
How To Make soft breadsticks

1In a large mixing bowl, stir together 1 cup of the flour with 2 1/2 tsp. dry yeast, and salt, with a wire whisk.

2In another bowl, combine, warm water, olive oil, honey, and egg yolk.

3Add to dry mixture and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping the bowls constantly. Increase the speed to high and continue to beat for 3 minutes. Using a spoon, stir in remaining flour.

4Turn dough onto a floured surface, and knead until dough is smooth and elastic, about 5-8 minutes.

5Place in a greased bowl, turning to coat dough completely. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size. (About an hour.)

6Punch dough down. Cover with damp cloth and let rest 10 minutes.

7Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

8Divide dough in half. Divide each portion into 8 pieces. On a floured surface, roll each piece into a 6-8 inch rope and place 2 inches apart on baking dish. Cover and let rise 45 minutes more.

9Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

10Beat together egg white and 1 tbsp. water with a wire whisk. Brush over breadsticks and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

11Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
