Ingredients For scotch scones

  • 1 c
    oatmeal
  • 3/4 c
    scaled milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    shortening
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar

How To Make scotch scones

  • 1
    Pour hot milk over oatmeal, mix well. Add shortening and let stand until cold.

    In a bowl sift together flour, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add to oatmeal and mix well. Roll out 3/4" thick and cut in rounds. Cook on a greased griddle about 20 minutes, turning when halfway cooked.
