My mother's side of the family is from Croatia. This bread is a family favorite that has been made for many generations. We mostly make it for the major holidays and big family get-togethers. It is literally gone within 15 minutes of pulling it out for everyone to eat.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Yum! This savory bread is delicious. We loved the onions cooked with the bacon. It gave a sweet flavor to the onion and richness to the prisnats. They're moist and creamy, like a hearty quiche. This Croatian dish would be great for brunch or a dinner appetizer.

If it starts to smell really yummy check it. If the top is a nice golden color stick a toothpick in it. If nothing runny comes out it's finished. All ovens are different so you'll have to start watching it as the aroma fills your house.
