This is a great Amish bread recipe. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we do :)

Ingredients For oatmeal bread

2 cboiling water

3 Tbspshortening (we use peanut oil)

2/3 cbrown sugar

1 1/2 tspsalt

2 pkgor 2 t. yeast

1/3 cwarm water

5 cflour
-
1 coatmeal
How To Make oatmeal bread

1Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil. Add oatmeal. Cool until lukewarm, then add yeast that has been dissolved in 1/3 cup water. Add flour and knead will. Let rise until doubled. Form into loaves or dinner rolls. Sprikle oats on top. Let rise again and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until browned nicely. Brush with butter.
