megan's corn bread

This was a recipe I probably wrote from one of the ones Grandma W had, or got from one of the Great Aunts. It was in my handwriting, and got so old that I had to put it into the computer to save it (I used to write my recipes in pencil).

1 ccornmeal

1 cflour

1/4 csugar

1 Tbspbaking powder

1/2 tspsalt

1 cmilk

1egg, beaten

1/4 coil

sugar to sprinkle on top, optional
How To Make megan's corn bread

1Oven to 425 degrees. Grease 8" square pan. Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, powder and salt. Add egg, milk and oil just until dry ingredients are moistened. Bake 20-25 min or until golden.

2Note: My grandma (Grandma W) used to sprinkle a little sugar on top of her cornbread or on muffins before she baked them.
