It's hard to believe when I hear someone say they can't make cornbread.It's so easy,it's one of the 1st recipes I made when I began cooking as a child.This bread is sweet,the way my family likes it but if you don't like sweet cornbread you can add less sugar or omit. Adding the oil fat to the bater makes the cornbread light,just be careful!

Ingredients For homemade cornbread

1/2 coil,butter or margarine

1 cyellow cornmeal

1 call purpose flour
-
1 Tbspbaking powder
-
1 tspsalt
-
1/2 csugar
-
2eggs
-
1 cmilk
How To Make homemade cornbread

1Preheat oven to 400 deg.Pour oil,butter or margarine in a cast iron skillet.Heat in oven while mixing remaining ingredients and oven heats.

2Combine flour,cornmeal,baking powder,salt and sugar.Mix well.

3Measure milk.Add eggs in same container and beat well,add to dry ingredients.Mix.

4Carefully add hot oil to batter and mix well.Pour batter into same hot skillet.

5Bake in hot oven 20-25 mins until golden brown.
