This recipe was given to my husband from a little old lady in a nurseing home he worked at. I made these when I owned my bakery and couldn't keep them on the shelf.

Ingredients For cheese straws

3 csifted flour
-
1 lbnew york sharp chedder cheese

1 tspbaking powder

1 cmargarine
-
1 tspsalt

1/2 tspcayenne pepper
How To Make cheese straws

1Allow cheese and margarine to reach room temp. or become soft. Grate the cheese.

2Mix all the ingredients together. Fill a cookie press with the dough. Line cookie sheet with waxed paper. Using press, put the dough onto cookie sheet and cut into the desired length.

3cook in 325 degree ocen for approximately 15 min or until slightly brown. Cool on brown paper.

4You can use a rolling pin and roll these out on a flour service. Roll real thin and cut into strips. I hated useing the press it was a pain. Also if you want to add more cayenne for a tangier straw do so.
