You can use graham flour in lieu of the wheat, too.

Ingredients For wheat popovers

  • 3/4 c
    wheat flour
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    corn meal
  • 1
    egg. lightly beaten
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    butter, melted

How To Make wheat popovers

  • 1
    Preheat oven 400 to with popover pan on rack.

    Sift flour and salt; beat egg very light and mix with milk; mix gradually with flour and add butter; beat 2 minutes.

    Pour into hot greased popover cups or pans; bake 20-30 minutes. The mixture should be very cold and the pans very hot.
