1 cunsifted whole wheat flour

1 1/2 ccoarsely chopped pecans

grated zest of one orange

1/2 cmilk

1/2 cmolasses

1/2 corange juice

1 1/2 tspvanilla

5 Tbspbutter..melted & slightly cooled
How To Make tenakee orange pecan bread

1Preheat oven to 350.Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. Sift the white flour,sugar,baking powder,and salt into a large mixing bowl.Stir in the whole wheat flour,pecans,and orange zest. In another bowl,beat the eggs,then add the milk,molasses,orange juice and vanilla,blending well. Stir in melted butter.

2Make a well in the dry ingredients and add liquid mixture all at once. Stir gently with a fork,just enough to combine the wet and dry ingredients. Divide batter between 2 pans and bake for 1 hour or until bread tests done with a toothpick. Cool slightly in pans before removing to a rack to cool thoroughly before slicing.
