DELICIOUS !!!!! I was inspired by one of Friday's featured recipes, Jess's Pretzel Nuggets....and decided to make my own Soft, Buttery,Twisted Rings of GOODNESS....WOW is all I can say at this moment there are not many left!!!!

Ingredients For sunday mornin' "pretzelfest"

1 pkgactive dry yeast (dissolved in 1 1/2 cups warm water)

4 call purpose flour

1 tspsalt
-
1 Tbspsugar
-
2 tspbaking soda (mixed with 1/4 cup water)

1 tspshortening (to spread on baking pan)

coarse sea salt to sprinkle over formed pretzels

1/4 stickmelted butter (to brush pretzel tops out of the oven)
How To Make sunday mornin' "pretzelfest"

1pre-heat oven to 425*, dissolve dry yeast packet in 1 1/2 cups of warm water, when fully dissolved add sugar salt and 4 cups of flour mix well until ball of dough is formed. Pour out onto a well floured surface and knead for several minutes until you have a nice workable texture.

2break off pieces of the pretzel dough and roll them out by hand, form into shape of your choice. dip them in a baking soda bath of 1/4 cup warm water and 2 tsp baking soda. place pretzels on baking sheet that has been rubbed with shortening, and sprinkle with sea salt (if so desired)

3Place baking sheet in 425* oven for 10-12 minutes keeping an eye on the pretzels the last 2 minutes. remove from oven brush tops with melted butter and watch them literally......disappear!!!!!

4Oh, and by the way you can also make these tasty pretzel nuggets, same procedure just pinch off pieces of dough and form into nugget size pieces.
