Another recipe I have found in my mothers recipe box and I love sourdough anything so I want to share it with you.

Ingredients For sourdough starter

  • TO STARTER THE YEAST:
  • 1 pkg
    or i call it an envelope of yeast
  • 1/2 c
    warm water
  • ADD TO STARTER:
  • 2 c
    warm water
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar

How To Make sourdough starter

    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup water in a larg bowl, stir in remaining ingredients.

    Beat until smooth let stand uncovered, at room tempture,for 3 to 4 days. Cover bowl at night.

    Using your starter is simple, but always remember to keep back at least 1 cup of starter for the future.

    After removing starter, add 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup of flour and 1 teaspoon sugar. Again let stand until bubbly and well fermented for at least 3 to 4 days before using,again, If you do not use starter within 10 day add 1 teaspoon of sugar, if no use after that in another 10 days do the same.
