Ingredients For sour cream cornbread

  • 1 cup flour, white
  • 3/4 cup cornmeal
  • 3 tbsp sugar, white
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cream of tarter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 cup sour cream, thick
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • soft butter & jam (for serving)

How To Make sour cream cornbread

    Preheat oven to 400º F
  • 2
    Grease a 9x5-inch bread pan with butter and set aside until needed.

    Add flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt in a bowl and mix well.

    Now add the egg, sour cream, milk and butter mixing until just combined.

    Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake 30 - 35 minutes.

    Cool on wire rack.

    Enjoy, sliced with butter and or jam.
