My husband, who is from the Northwest, never liked or ate cornbread.....so this Texas gal had to convert him!

Ingredients For my husband favorite cornbread!

1 call purpose flour

1 cyellow cornmeal
-
4 tspbaking powder
-
1 tspsalt
-
2 Tbspsugar

1egg
-
3 Tbspcooking oil
-
1/2 cfinely chopped onion

2/3 ccheddar cheese, grated

1/2 canchopped green chilies
-
1 cmilk
How To Make my husband favorite cornbread!

1Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease a cast iron pan (note: I have a Johnny Bread pan which has 8 sections, and you have crust on all surfaces!)

2Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder. Stir in your grated cheese, onions and chilies; then add your eggs, milk and oil. Mix until all ingredients are combined well.

3Pour into prepared pan, bake for approx. 25 minutes or until brown on top. Let cool in pan about 5 minutes, then remove and have that butter ready!
