There are different stories of how these delicious treats got their name. The common denominator of all the stories is that they originated in the South; and that someone threw them to some barking dogs saying "hush puppies". However the name was chosen, it stuck. These corn meal delicacies are best fried in the oil after frying fish.

Ingredients For hushpuppies

1 ccornmeal mix

1 tspbaking powder

3/4 cplain flour

1 conion, chopped fine

1 Tbspjalapeno pepper, chopped fine

1 tspjalapeno pepper juice

1 smcan cream corn
How To Make hushpuppies

1Mix all ingredients well. Mixture will be very thick.

2Drop by tablespoonful in hot oil. Fry until golden brown. They will float to top when done.
