Ingredients For honey wheat bread

  • 1 stick
    butter/margarine
  • 3/4 c
    honey
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 pkg
    dried yeast
  • 1 c
    whole wheat flour
  • 4-5 c
    flour (i use unbleached)

How To Make honey wheat bread

  • 1
    mix 2 pkg yeast with 1 and 1/2c of very warm water in a big bowl with wheat flour let sit for about 10-15 minutes

    heat on stove butter, honey, salt and milk til butter melts do not boil
  • 3
    cool the honey mixture then add to the wheat flour stir until well blended then add flour until a nice dough forms knead until smooth let rise until double in size inside the bowl then remove to a lightly oiled pan(your choice I use a corning ware dish about 9x9) punch down and let rise again until double in size
  • 4
    bake in preheated oven 325 til done should sound hollow when tapped for about 35-45 minutes
