Ingredients For grandma's cornbread

  • 1 c
    corn meal
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 2 c
    buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 3 Tbsp
    oil (your choice)
  • OPTIONS
  • 1 sm
    can of chopped green chili would be a great addition

How To Make grandma's cornbread

    Heat oven to 425 degrees. Put the 3T oil in the cast-iron pan. Place the pan in the oven while preheating.

    Beat eggs. Add the wet ingredents, mix well.

    Add to that the dry ingredents, until moist.
  • 4
    When oven is done preheating remove pan. Add ingredents to hot pan. Put pan back into oven.

    Bake for 25 min.
