Ingredients For german cornbread

  • 1 1/2 c
    self-rising corn meal
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 lg
    onion, chopped fine
  • 1/2 c
    crisco oil
  • 1 sm
    can cream style corn
  • 1 sm
    container sour cream

How To Make german cornbread

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients together and pour into well greased iron skillet (grease pan well with shorting). Bake in 400 oven for 40 to 45 minutes. For muffins, saute onions in oil before addng to other ingredents. Baking time will be reduced.
