easy cornbread

I like to serve this with chili or beef stew. You could also make corn muffins if you prefer.

Ingredients For easy cornbread

  • 1 1/4 c
    flour
  • 3/4 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    skim milk
  • 1/4 c
    corn, vegetable, or canola oil
  • 1 lg
    egg, beaten

How To Make easy cornbread

  • 1
    Grease an 8 or 9 inch cake pan. Combine dry ingredients. Stir in milk, oil, and egg mixing just until dry ingredients are moist. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes until light golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
