What can I say, I like cornbread... I've made it many different ways over the years, but this is my go to recipe. It's quick. Easy. The kids inhale it. Hope you like it as much as we do!

Ingredients For bay's legit cornbread

  • 1 1/3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • 6 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 4 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 can
    creamed corn
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter

How To Make bay's legit cornbread

    Heat #8 cast iron skillet in 400° oven
  • 2
    Whisk all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl
  • 3
    Add all else and whisk into batter
  • 4
    Remove heated skillet, melt butter in the heated cast iron, pour batter into skillet and cook for 15 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean
