This is good for family members who only want "white" bread. Very yummy and with more whole grain.

Ingredients For barley bread

  • 3/4 c
    warm water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    coconut oil (or whatever you prefer)
  • MIX TOGETHER AND LET STAND ABOUT 10 MINUTES THEN ADD THE FOLLOWING:
  • 1/3 c
    honey or sugar
  • 1
    scant tablespoon salt
  • 1 1/2 c
    warm water or warm milk
  • 3 c
    barley flour
  • 3 c
    all purpose flour

How To Make barley bread

  • 1
    MIX WELL AND KNEAD FOR A MINUTE OR 2, NOT TOO MUCH. LET RISE UNTIL DOUBLE. SHAPE INTO LOAVES AND LET RISE AGAIN. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 35 MINUTES OR UNTIL DONE
