Ingredients For banana waffles

  • 1 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2/3 c
    whole-wheat flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground allspice or cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2
    large egg whites
  • 1
    large egg lightly beaten
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    mashed ripe banana
  • 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c
    chopped pecans or walnuts

How To Make banana waffles

  • 1
    PRE HEAT LIGHTLY GREASED WAFFLE IRON. IN LARGE BOWL, STIR TOGETHER THE FLOURS, BAKING POWDER, ALLSPICE, AND SALT. IN A MEDIUM BOWL, COMBINE EGG WHITES, EGG, MILK, BANANA, OIL AND NUTS. ADD TO THE FLOUR MIXTURE ALL AT ONCE AND STIR UNTIL JUST COMBINED.

    USEING 1 TO 1-1/4 CUPS OF BATTER FOR EACH WAFFLE, POUR THE BATTER INTO THE GRIDS. CLOSE LID QUICKLY; DO NOT OPEN DURING BAKING. FOLLOW YOUR IRONS DIRECTIONS FOR BAKING; REMOVE WITH A FORK. IF BATTER BECOMES TO THICK, THIN WITH A LITTLE MILK.
