Ingredients For new orleans black muffins

3/4 c hot water

1/2 c molasses

1/4 c milk

2 c whole wheat flour

1 c flour

3/4 c sugar

3 t. baking powder

1 t. baking soda

1 t. salt
-
1 1/2 c coarsely chopped pecans
How To Make new orleans black muffins

1Combine water and molasses stirring until well blended. Stir in milk till blended. In a large bowl,sift dry ingredients . Fold in the liquid mixture and pecans into dry ingredients just till flour is throughly mixed. Spoon into 12 greased muffin cups. Bake at 300 degrees. 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove from pan immediately and serve while hot.
