I received this recipe from my husbands aunt in the 80's. It's still a keeper.

Ingredients For bran muffins

1 cboiling water
-
2 ckelloggs all bran cereal
-
1 cnabisco 100% bran cereal

1 1/2 cgranulated sugar

1/2 cvegetable oil
-
2 cbuttermilk
-
2eggs
-
2 1/2 cflour
-
2 1/2 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspsalt
-
1/2 craisins
How To Make bran muffins

1In small bowl, combine cereals. Pour boiling water over cereals and set aside.

2Blend sugar and oil together with electric mixer. Add buttermilk and eggs.

3Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Gradually add to sugar mixture.

4Fold in cereal mixture and raisins.

5Pour mixture into sprayed muffin tins and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

6BATTER KEEPS IN REFRIGERATOR FOR DAYS. DO NOT STIR AGAIN! Simply dip out what you need and bake. The chilled batter will have to bake for a bit longer. I bake until the top springs back.
