I got the idea to make these for an open house so my home would smell warm and inviting... who doesn't love the smell of warm apple pie?

Ingredients For apple pie muffins

  • 6 oz
    apple turnover flavored yogurt
  • 1 stick
    butter, melted
  • 3 lg
    eggs, room temperature
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 can
    apple pie filling
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    whole wheat flour
  • 1 c
    cinnamon/sugar

How To Make apple pie muffins

  • 1
    preheat oven to 400 degrees, line muffin tins with baking cups
  • 2
    chop up the apples in the pie filling into small chunks
  • 3
    combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside
  • 4
    combine the wet ingredients in a large bowl
  • 5
    add the dry ingredients and stir just until combined (don't over mix)
  • 6
    fill muffin cups 3/4 full, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
