An irresistible, delicious, easy to make, moist bread. Can use an orange glaze over it to bring it to the next level. You can also use a nut topping instead of the glaze.

Ingredients For peach nut bread

  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/3 c
    butter
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/4 c
    buttermilk or peach nectar or orange juice
  • 1 c
    peaches, mashed, drained canned
  • 1/2 tsp
    orange extract
  • 1 c
    nuts
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon (optional)
  • NUT TOPPING
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped nuts
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • ORANGE GLAZE
  • 3/4 c
    powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    orange juice

How To Make peach nut bread

    Sift dry ingredients; set aside.
  • 2
    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and orange extraxt; beat well.
  • 3
    Stir in buttermilk and mashed drained canned peaches.

    Add the dry ingredients, mixing until all dry particles are moistened. Fold in nuts.

    Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 X 5 inch loaf pan. Combine topping; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.

    Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack. Glaze option: While baking, stir orange juice and powdered sugar until combined. Drizzle glaze over top of bread when bread is cool.
