Ingredients For nutty banana cranberry bread

  • 2 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    shortening
  • 3
    eggs, beaten
  • 3
    ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 c
    cranberry sauce, - i use whole berry sauce
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 c
    ap flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/2 - 3/4 c
    chopped, walnuts

How To Make nutty banana cranberry bread

    In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar and shortening together until fluffy. Beat in eggs.

    Stir in bananas, cranberry sauce, milk and vanilla. In another bowl mix together flour, soda, baking powder, nutmeg and cinnamon.

    Gradually blend flour mixture into the banana mixture, fold in walnuts.

    Divide batter evenly between two greased 9 x 5 loaf pans.

    Bake at 350 degree for 50 - 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes; turn out onto a wire rack and cook completely.
