This delicious recipe came from my mom. It's good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Believe me, it won't be around for long. In my house, it's scarfed up in a day. There seems to be a lot of steps, but this recipe is easy to prepare. Enjoy!

2 call purpose flour-sifted

1 tspbaking powder

1/4 tspsalt

3/4 cbutter
-
1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

2eggs, beaten
-
1/2 tspbaking soda
-
1/2 cmilk
-
1 tspvanilla
-
1 lbpitted dates, chopped

1/2 cpecans, chopped
-
1 cheavy cream, whipped or spread with some good butter

How To Make delicious date loaf -connie's

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2Line the bottom of a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with waxed paper.

3Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.

4In a mixing bowl, cream butter with brown sugar until light and fluffy.

5Add beaten eggs to creamed mixture.

6Dissolve soda in milk.
-
7Add soda mixture and vanilla to creamed mixture.

8Add chopped dates and nuts to FLOUR mixture.

9Stir flour, date and nut mixture into creamed ingredients. Mix well.

10Pour batter into the prepared pan.

11Bake 50-60 minutes or until done.

12Cool in pan 5 minutes.

13Remove from pan and cool thoroughly on wire rack.

14Once cooled, slice loaf and serve with whipped cream or butter.
