healthy orange/mint/vanilla/spinach stuffed bread

Believe me, this is a winning combination! It may sound a little weird, but try it and you'll be turned on to a very healthy, great tasting, certainly-not-run-of-the-mill stuffed bread!

Ingredients For healthy orange/mint/vanilla/spinach stuffed bread

  • 1 tube
    pillsbury whole grain artisan pizza dough
  • 1/2
    8 oz tub fat free cream cheese
  • 1 c
    fresh baby spinach
  • 1/2
    naval orange, peeled and broken into sections, then break sections into smaller pieces
  • several mint leaves torn into small pieces
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    smart balance light or another type of healthy butter substitute

How To Make healthy orange/mint/vanilla/spinach stuffed bread

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray
  • 2
    Divide tube of Artisan pizza dough in half. (Save half of th e dough for another time.)

    Roll dough out into long rectangle
  • 4
    Spread cream cheese evenly over dough
  • 5
    Place spinach in a line down center of rectangle over cream cheese. Place oranges evenly on top of spinach. Sprinkle with mint leaves then vanilla extract.

    Fold sides toward center, overlap and seal. Seal ends.

    Transfer bread to cookie sheet shaping into crescent shape. Dot with butter. Bake 25 minutes (longer depending on oven) until top is slightly brown. Cool about 15 minutes then slice and serve.
