Ingredients For cornbread

1 cbuttermilk

1/2 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspsalt

1 cyellow corn meal

2 Tbspbutter, melted

1egg, well beaten

1 Tbspshortening
How To Make cornbread

1Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

2Place shortening in a small cast iron skillet. Place it in the warm oven and heat until shortening is hot.

3While it is heating, put the soda in the milk and stir.

4Put corn meal, salt, egg and butter in a bowl. Add the milk mixture. Stir well.

5Remove skillet from oven. Carefully pour batter into the skillet.

6Bake for 15 minutes or until done.
