Ingredients For cardamom rolls

  • 4 Tbsp
    flour
  • 4 tsp
    sugar
  • 2 pkg
    dry yeast
  • 1 c
    warm water
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2/3 c
    shortening
  • 3 tsp
    salt
  • 12
    cardamom seeds, crushed (about 5 pods)
  • 2
    eggs
  • 12 c
    flour
  • 4 c
    warm milk

How To Make cardamom rolls

    Remove and crush cardamom seeds in a mixing bowl, with back of spoon. Add 4 Tbsp. flour, 4 tsp. of sugar, yeast and 1 cup of warm water to bowl. Mix together, with electric mixer. Set aside to rise 20 minutes. Also take eggs from refrigerator to allow to come to room temperature.

    Add sugar, shortening, salt, flour, warm milk and eggs to mixture. Let double in size. You will need a very large bowl. Pour out on a floured surface. Knead adding more flour if needed. Shape into desired shapes and place on a greased cookie sheet. Rise 50 minutes or until they fill the pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
