tina's scottish oat scones
I have been making these for years. Love the texture the oatmeal gives it. Hubs however doesn't care for the raisins.:-(

Ingredients For tina's scottish oat scones

2/3 cbutter, melted

1/3 cmilk

1egg, beaten

1 1/2 call-purpose flour

1 1/2 cregular oatmeal 1 1/4 cups if using quick oatmeal

1/3 cwhite sugar
-
1 Tbspbaking powder
-
1 tspcream of tartar
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1/2 craisins or currents
How To Make tina's scottish oat scones

1Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Sift flour, sugar, Baking powder, Cr of tartar and salt.

2Mix beaten egg and milk into melted butter

3Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredient along with the raisins. Dough will be very soft and sticky.

4Pour into the greased cookie sheet and form into an 8 inch circle. With knife cut into 8 pieces and with knife push the wedges apart on the cookie sheet. Sprinkle with additional sugar if desired. Bake 12- 15 minutes.
