When I make these biscuit type rolls, I always think of my Gram...she always made these for breakfast, when we spent the night with her. She would pour milk over top as soon as they came from the oven, and they were so good. My kids prefer plain or with glaze. Enjoy!

How To Make ~ gram's sweet cinnamon biscuits ~

  • 1
Preheat oven to 400 degree F. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well.
  • 2
Stir in vegetable oil. Add buttermilk and stir just until blended.
  • 3
On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough until smooth. Roll the dough into a 15 x 8 inch rectangle.
  • 4
Grease a 9 inch round baking pan. Spread the butter over the dough. Combine the sugar and cinnamon and mix well. Sprinkle evenly over butter. In jelly roll fashion, roll up the dough, starting from one long side. Pinch seam to seal.
  • 5
Cut the roll into 1 1/2 inch slices. Place slices side by side in prepared baking pan.
  • 6
Bake until lightly browned, or about 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Gram poured milk over the top of hers. I just leave mine plain or make a quick confectioners' sugar glaze. Serve hot and enjoy!
