Woke up early and thought I'd try something a little different. My husband likes his biscuits on the dark side with a crispy top. This recipe surely does not disappoint! The cast iron delivers the crunch! Just turn it out onto your platter and cut into squares!

1 stickbutter, unsalted

2 1/2 call purpose flour

4 tspsugar

4 tspbaking powder

2 tspsalt

How To Make cast iron buttermilk biscuits

1Preheat oven to 450. In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter and pour into your cast iron skillet.

2Combine all dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.

3Add buttermilk and stir to combine. It will be sticky.

4Pour mixture over the top of your melted butter, using your hand to press down to fill to edges.

5Place in preheated 450 degree oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, rotating pan one while baking.
