Ingredients For angel biscuits

  • 5 c
    flour,sifted
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    shortening
  • 1 pkg
    dry yeast
  • 2 Tbsp
    warm water
  • 2 c
    buttermilk

How To Make angel biscuits

  • 1
    sift together dry ingredients.cut in shortening.dissolve yeast in warm water(water that is too hot will kill yeast)and add to buttermilk.add liquid to dry mixture and stir until all flour is moistened.cover and place in refrigerator.when ready to use,pinch off amount needed,roll out about 1/4-inch thick,and cut out rolls in any desired shape.place,sides touching,on baking sheet and cook at 450*until brown.if desired,you may all rolls to rise before baking
