St.Gentian's Table. St.Gentian was the patron Saint of Hospitality and food. At medieval re-enactment event a dear friend and great cook and I decided to put on a feast. The feast led to some catering and then the setting up a food merchant these medieval events around the area. These scones are a big success thank you you Ladyship Keinna de Savage.

Ingredients For st.gentian's table blueberry scones

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2/3 c
    buttermilk
  • 1/2 c
    butter, unsalted cold
  • 1/4 c
    fresh blueberries
  • EGG WASH
  • 1 sm
    egg
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar

How To Make st.gentian's table blueberry scones

    Put all dry inged. into a large bowl and mix well. Cut cold butter into dry mixture till it looks like small oatmeal. Put in blue berries. Add buttermilk and mix gentle by hand till the mixture comes together. Place dough on floured counter and form into a dinner plate size circle that is 1/2 inch think. Cut like a pizza into eight. brush top with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar. bake on parchment paper cookie sheet @400 for 15-20 min

    Remember you can put whatever you like with this recipe. Ham & cheese with chives, sprinkle salt on top instead of sugar. Apple and Butterscotch, blueberry and white chocolate, the list goes on!!!
