Ingredients For sausage cheese balls
-
1 lbhot pork sausage
-
3 cbaking mix, bisquick, jiffy mix, etc.
-
8 to 16 ozsharp cheddar cheese, shredded
-
2 Tbspdried minced onions
-
1/2 tspsmoked paprika
-
3/4 to 1 cwhole milk
How To Make sausage cheese balls
-
1n a large skillet over medium heat add sausage. Cook, stirring occasionally, while breaking the sausage up to small pieces, cooking until browned. The last few minutes of cooking add the minced onions, mixing well.
-
2Drain sausage and set aside
-
3In a large mixing bowl, add baking mix, smoked paprika, and parsley. Whisking together to break up clumps of the mix to evenly incorporate the spices.
-
4Then add cheese and sausage, mixing well.
-
5Stir in the milk until the dough reaches desired consistency, (for "rounder" sausage balls, use only 3/4 cup milk).
-
6Prepare a baking sheet(s) with non stick spray, or line with parchment paper.
-
7Preheat oven to 350°F.
-
8Depending one the consistency, either spoon dough onto prepared sheet(s). Or if you used less milk... form dough into walnut size balls. Balls will expand, so don't crowd them on the baking sheet(s).
-
9Bake in preheated oven, until golden brown, approximately 15-20 minutes.
-
10When golden, remove from oven and cool completely on a cooling rack. Store in a closed container or a zip lock bag, storing in the refrigerator, due to meat content.
-
11I hope you will try making these for your family soon!!
