These are so good. I can't remember where the recipe came from but I think they are easy and tasty. I have really had some funny experiences trying to make biscuits in my lifetime. I have found that I prefer to roll them out rather than cutting them out. You can do either with this recipe.

3 cself-rising flour*

2 tsppowdered sugar

3 tspbaking powder

1/2 ccrisco (or any shortening)

1 1/2 cbuttermilk*

How To Make mock bojangles biscuits

1Preheat oven to 450. Blend all dry ingredients together then form a hole in center. Cut in the crisco then stir in the buttermilk and knead a few times.

2I pinch off dough and roll in my palms then shape. I then flatten them a bit using my knuckles then pat a little water on top to dampen the flour. You can roll out onto a floured surface and cut out rounds of dough if you want.

3Place into your greased pan and bake at 450 for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown.

4SELF-RISING FLOUR SUBSTITUTES: 3 cups all-purpose flour 2 TBSP baking powder 3/4 tsp salt 3/4 tsp baking soda or cream of tartar ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BUTTERMILK SUBSTITUTE: 1 1/4 TBSP lemon juice or white vinegar plus enough milk to equal 1 1/2 cups. Stir vigorously then let stand for 5 minutes.
