Ingredients For "high rise" wheat biscuits

2 cwhole wheat flour

1 clow protein all-purpose flour, e.g., white lily or martha white

2 Tbspbaking powder

1 tspsalt

1 cbutter, cold

1 cbuttermilk

1/3 csour cream

1/4 tspsugar

1/4 tspvanilla extract
How To Make "high rise" wheat biscuits

1Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

2Combine flours, baking powder and salt; then cut in stick of butter with pastry blender.

3Combine remaining ingredients well and then add to dry mixture. Stir until it comes together as a lump of dough. Do NOT knead the dough.

4Sprinkle whole wheat bench flour down and roll out dough to desired thickness, cut out biscuits and bake until golden brown - about 10 minutes.
