I love using buttermilk in my recipes, and I altered one that called for cream and baking powder. A half pound of breakfast sausage may be substituted for the bacon and is as good. This is a great breakfast alternative to a sweet scone. Great grab 'n go breakfast when running late for school, work, etc.

These cheddar bacon buttermilk scones are great for breakfast, but they'll also be delicious alongside soup or a salad. It's a savory scone with tender and flaky layers and a punch of flavor. There are bacon bits and cheese in every bite. Yum!
