Ingredients For baking powder biscuits

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1
    egg
  • 2/3 c
    milk

How To Make baking powder biscuits

    In a large bowl; combine the four,sugar,baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly. Beat egg and milk, stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface, ( I use wax paper or parchment paper) roll out to 1/2 inch thickness,cut with a floured biscuit cutter. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
