Ingredients For apple and cinnamon fritters

  • 2/3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3 pkg
    cream of wheat apples and cinnamon instant hot cereal
  • 1 Tbsp
    granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 lg
    eggs, separated
  • 1/2 c
    shredded apple
  • 2/3 c
    milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • vegetable oil for frying

How To Make apple and cinnamon fritters

    Mix together the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; set aside. Beat egg yolks, milk and 1 Tablespoon of oil with a wire whisk until well blended. Add to flour mixture, stir until well blended. Stir in apples. Let stand for 10 miinutes. Heat 1 1/2 inches of oil in a heavy saucepan or electric skillet to 375^. Beat egg whites on high speed with electric mixer until stiff peaks form gently stir into batter. Drop by teaspoonfuls into hot oil; cook 3 to 5 minutes or until gloden brown. Drain on paper towels. Cool completelly. Dust fritters with powdered sugar or Maple syrup just before serving.
