INGREDIENTS

500 grams ground pork ((1 lb))

15 hard boiled quail eggs (peeled, or canned, OR make from a shortcut)

8 fresh Shiitake mushrooms (stems removed and sliced)
•
1/4 cup oyster sauce
•
1/4 cup soy sauce
•
2 pieces whole star anise
•
1 tablespoon sugar
•
1 cup chicken stock (fresh or from powder)
•
2 tablespoons cornstarch (mix with 1/4 cup water to make a slurry)
•
3 spring onions (chopped, 1 inch pieces, white and green)
•
4 cloves garlic (smashed and minced)
•
1 small onion (minced)
•
salt and pepper (to taste)
•
cooking oil (as needed)
