This is not your average spinach artichoke dip! Your guests will be wondering, "what is that wonderful flavor? I just can't figure it out!" It's cream sherry people! You can decide wether to share your secret ingredient or not! I won't tell. ;-) I was pretty proud of this idea. The taste of sherry and heavy cream is just irresistible to me. Enjoy!

Ingredients For secret spinach artichoke dip

  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 2 10 oz
    pkgs frozen spinach, thawed and well drained
  • 2 8 oz
    cans artichoke hearts, well drained and chopped
  • 1 1/2 c
    heavy cream
  • 5 oz
    boursin garlic and herb cheese (or any soft garlic and herb cheese)
  • 2 Tbsp
    cream sherry
  • 1/2 c
    grated parmesan cheese
  • pinch
    s & p

How To Make secret spinach artichoke dip

  • 1
    Saute onion in butter over medium heat.
  • 2
    Add spinach and artichoke. Gently heat through.
  • 3
    Add cream, cheese, sherry, and S&P. Gently simmer until reduced a bit.
  • 4
    Remove from heat and fold in parmesan. Serve warm with chips or baguette.
