Ingredients For italian style bruschetta

8-10 lgroma tomatoes, seeded and chopped

2 Tbspred onions, finely chopped

2 lgcloves garlic, pressed

1/4 cfresh basil, chopped

2 tspred wine vinegar
-
3 Tbspextra virgin olive oil, plus more to brush

freshly ground black pepper, to taste (i always use mixed peppercorns)

1 smpinch ground himalayan sea salt, or to taste

1loaf french baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick

high quality aged balsamic vinegar, to drizzle
How To Make italian style bruschetta

1In a medium bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, red onion, garlic, basil, red wine vinegar, oil, black pepper and salt. Stir well and let the mixture sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.

2Transfer to the refrigerator for 45 minutes.

3Slice baguette and place on a baking sheet. Lightly brush side up with oil (one side only). Transfer under the broiler and toast for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.

4Remove from the heat and place the bread slices on a serving plate. Spoon tomato mixture over the slices and then drizzle with balsamic vinegar. Serve immediately.
