Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by my mother's cousin Effie Benton Moody

No-Cook or Other
Ingredients For effie's spinach dip

1 pkgknorr vegetable soup mix

16 ozsour cream

2 pkgfrozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained well

1 cmayonnaise

1 cwater chestnuts, chopped

3/4 cchopped green onion

2loaves round bread
How To Make effie's spinach dip

1Dip out center of bread loaves and cube for dip.

2Make sure that the spinach is very well drained, squeeze all of the liquid out. Mix all remaining ingredients well.

3Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
