seafood surprise spread (dip)

This is modified from a hand written, "old family recipe" I found. I like to use Dungeness crab meat when I can get it, and fresh Pacific NW shrimp meat, instead of canned shrimp. My family prefers just a thin layer of cocktail sauce. Cook time=Chill time.

Ingredients For seafood surprise spread (dip)

  • 1-8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1 cup small shrimp and/or crab meat, more to taste
  • 1 cup seafood cocktail sauce, less to taste.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions or chives
  • 1/2 cup diced fresh tomato (optional)

How To Make seafood surprise spread (dip)

  • 1
    Combine cream cheese, sour cream and mayo. and spread on plate.

    Scatter shrimp and/or crab meat over the top, then add layers of seafood sauce, cheese, onions and tomatoes
  • 3
    Cover and chill. Serve with crackers.
